First chance for Fiorentina in the 2dn minute as Kuzmanovic headed the ball just over.

Good chance for Mutu as Donadel's shot was played in his direction and his improvisation was just not good enough in the 7th minute.

Goal for Inter in the 9th minute as Zlatan's through ball to Jimenez was dispatched quite clinically.

Good play by Fiorentina as Mutu's clever flick went to Kuzmanovic and his cross was miskicked by Mutu then he tried to redeem himself but was closed down by Samuel, Cordoba and Chivu in the 12th minute.

Great chance for Pazzini to make it 1-1 but his header was weak because the cross from Mutu was weak and Chivu was able to clear the ball away in the 21st minute.

Maxwell is on for Dacourt in the 22nd minute.

Good play by Pazzini as he turned Samuel and hit his shot but was saved by Cesar i9n the 23rd minute.

Chance for Inter with Jimenez playing a very good ball to Zlatan but his shot was parried for a corner kick by Frey in the 27th minute.

Silly free kick given away by Chivu on Semioli but Pasqual's attempt was easily saved by Cesar.

Good play again by Inter but Maxwell wasted a very good opportunity by trying to beat Fry on his near post but it was saved and Cruz could do nothing with the rebound in the 32nd minute.

It is end to end in this game as they are taking it in turns to attack each other but no clear cut chances in the last .

2-0 to Inter Milan with Zlatan Ibrahimovic again very prominent in the move as he plays in a fantastic pass to Cruz leaving 1on 1 with Frey and he calmly passed in into the net in the 44th minute.

Half Time

It has been a very good half of football with Inter being totally professional in their manner of going about things and with 3 fabulous forwards and a gem in Ibrahimovic.

They also have a very good defence that is uncompromising in their approach to play and are ably helped by athletic midfielders like Zanetti and Cambiasso.

Fiorentina have not played badly but they are somewhat lacking in the final third where Mutu perhaps tries to do too much at times.

At the start of the second half Christian Vieri and Martin Jorgensen for Kuzmanovic and Pazzini.

Good defending by Cordoba as he twice intercepted in matter of seconds to thwart the threat of Fiorentina on the 51st minute.

Chance for Vieri in the 53rd minute following a great pass from Liverani but it was on his right foot and was pulled wide.

Zlatan had 3 bites at the cherry in the 55th minute as he was put through by Cruz and his first shot was stopped by Frey with his right hand, it came back to Zlatan and his shot was punched by Frey back to him and his final shot was over the bar.

Frey has again denied Zlatan in the 58th minute with a wonderful save for a corner kick.

Mario Santana is on for Fabio Liverani in the 59th minute.

Good block by Gamberini on Julio Cruz in the 68th minute.

David Suazo in on for Julio Cruz in the 73rd minute.

Another chance for Inter but Maicon's cross was too high for Zlatan to make it 3-0 in the 74th minute.

Good cross by Mutu and it was met well by Vieri but his header was over the crossbar in the 77th minute.

Again excellent defending by Inter this time by Samuel, who stops Pasqual's cross from doing any damage in the 79th minute.

Good play by Suazo as he beat Jorgensen in the penalty box but his cross was saved by Frey in the 80th minute.

Marco Materazzi is on for Luiz Jimenez in the 81st minute.

Great save by Cesar with his feet on Semioli's header in the 91st minute.

Fiorentina 0 Inter Milan 2

It was a very good performance by Inter Milan proving once again that they are the team to beat in SerieA as they brushed aside the challenge of Fiorentina.

There were a lot of very good performances in Inter's colours with Zlatan, Jimenez, Cruz, Samuel, Cordoba and Maicon but Esteban Cambiasso was possibly the pick of the bunch.

For Fiorentina Sebastian Frey was their best player by a long way and it was an emotional day for everyone concerned with Fiorentina especially Cesare Prandelli whose wife passed away on Monday and the fans game him a standing ovation and a 1 minute silence was observed in her honour.
